The debate has been going about for a colossally long time now, of the best all format batter in the world, in current times. The current Fab. 4 consist of Joe Root, Steve Smith, Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson. However, only on of them, Joe Root is actually in the form of his life.
The others are just as a mere formality, for the past couple of years. However, if we see current performers like Jos Butler, Babar Azam, and Muhammad Rizwan, the unfortunately do not qualify for the list just because their records are just of the recent times. Babar and Rizwan, however are the underrated gems of Pakistan. They have the highest T20I averages as Batsmen, have the highest partnerships and are on the road to greatness.
As far as Tests are concerned, only 2 of the Fab. 4 are actually in the Top 5! Including Babar. Not only this, but he ranks No.1 in both ODI's and T20I's. So for me, currently, the man in form is Babar Azam.
