Are video games bad for kids

Some studies have showed that video games can improve your hand eye coordination, problem solving skills, helps your mind to process information and think fast but too much addiction of anything is harmful for you.
Kids who have addiction of video games which lead them to play for hours can cause them a lot of harm both physically and mentally. A child should play a video game for about 30 to 60 minutes on school days and less than two hours on weekends. This is studied and said by Childs mind institute

It has also been studied that if a child plays video games for about 5 or more hours this could cause him depression and anxiety. Not just this but playing violent games which include killing, shooting and other criminal activities can damage the brain and may even increase the risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

Another physical disadvantage is caused to the people who play to much action games. It is studied by the University  of  Montreal  that habitual players of action games have fewer neurons in their hippocampus, a key memory center in the brain. As we notice that the new generation is more interested in gaming and some people also earn money for playing and promoting games. That is also a reason why Alzheimer disease is spreading rapidly.
Video games may also have bad effects on some children’s health, including obesity, video-induced seizures. and postural, muscular and skeletal disorders, such as tendonitis, nerve compression, carpal tunnel syndrome. If your child is playing an online game he can pick up bad language and behavior from other people. It can also be dangerous for your child to play an online game because there are some sexual predators often posing themselves as children meeting your kids online through multiplayer video games and chat apps.
Some people play games just to have fun but on the other hand there are those people who are addicted to it and want to be the best at it which make their communities toxic than others. A potential reason for that could be that some games are more competitive than others, and competition sometimes does not bring out the best in us. It is also a reason for aggression and stress which you can see is common among gamers.
People get only addicted to those games who are getting updated after a period of time because if they don’t get new updates and be repetitive people will lose interest in them.
